09. 3D PRINTED HOLLOW FORM OBJECT: CONCEPT GENERATION

 This project is aiming producing a hybrid object that are hollow. It has to be printable with 3D printer, functional, and has to be a free standing object. I am assigned with Constanza Santibanez.

Week 2 : Drawing in 2D

 Week 2 Rhino Assignment : Make these Shapes! What I found challenging was to make a peanut shape on fourth low. I searched how to get those shapes and I could learn to use 'blendcrv.' It is a feature that connects two curves smoothly and it is also possible to adjust curve that was made between original curves. Otherwise, I learning 'array along curve' feature looked very interesting and convenient, since it cuts down all the process to copy, move, and make a shape out of them.

Week 6 Exercise: 3D Scanning of Organic Object

 This exercise is to scan an organic object using 3D scanning app 'Widar' and re-make it in digital 3d file using Rhino. 1. Scanning the object I picked 21 photos out of 103 photos and editted each photo so that the apple in the photo can be seen as almost same size for better results. This video include top, top 45 angle, side view, unside down side view and bottom view of an apple. 2. Best 4 Photos to re-build     < From top left in clock-wise, Bottom, Upside Down Side, Side, Top View > I thought these 4 photos are showing the volume and the uneven surface of the apple. 3. Digitalize   To start with, I made a sphere using SubD Sphere. And after that, using SubD edges, I made concave part on top and at the bottom of the sphere. And after that, I activated CageEdit, and imported photos of this apple in different angle. And using CageEdit, I moved the outlines of the sphere so that it will match with the apple in the photo.    < From Right View >...

Parametric Structure & Animation

  For this week, we had to make an GIF animation showcasing parametric structure. Originally, I planned to a firework since I thought by using parametric factor, I could adjust objects' scale and number, as well as the length of the objects' axis. Process First of all, I made a system where I can change length of my base axis. To do so, I used number slide and made changes to the location of the starting and ending point of the line, as well as the length of the line. After figured out one line, I made another set of the system and edited the range of the number slide, from "0<20" to "-20<0." Below are how it looked like. With 2 individual number slides for each axis, I couldn't control them at the same time. So after researching, I used "Remap" feature, which allows me to adjust the values of two number slides at the same time. Below is the sketch of the structure.
